Here's a response rendering to the images that went viral today showing what is claimed to be data screenshots of the 2015 Mustang. As followers of this blog know, this car has been my most anticipated upcoming release for the last two years. The renderings posted on MustangG6 left much to be desired in the Musclular department, often being compared to a previous gen Accord coupe. That's not to be taken lightly. Although my rendering is based on a 2013 Shelby Super snake, I believe it to accurately capture the character of the Anniversary Mustang. Many of the details such as the grill dividers are visible in the spy-photos and are not my creation.

Enjoy!
nice render! it looks way better than anything I have seen on the other blogs. I just think the mirrors could use some work, I hear they are really something special on the production car.
ReplyDeleteYes, Very Nice Work. As D.English commented however the Mirrors are not right. They are clearly visible in the spy shots. The 2015's mirrors mount from the door now on a slim stem that comes straight out from the door. Also the "Double Bubble" Roof is Less Bubble like. It will be flatter with a mild indentation down the center..
ReplyDeleteYou guys are getting worked up over the mirrors. These are maybe the easiest thing to hide on a test car because they can use stock mirrors from an existing car. Don't get hung up on little things like that. The bigger deal will be the body to window proportions. This design features more body than window similar to the current wedge shaped body design. The body work also appears a bit bulkier here than in the new slimmer accord style rendering. That one is maybe too slim. I suspect the end design to be somewhere in between.
ReplyDeleteThank you for this. Some other recent renders are soulless and mild. This is perfect. I'd expect hood vents (actually visible on the spy photo you posted) and fender vents (visible in other spy photos) on the high end models, but this body shaping is PERFECT.
ReplyDeleteThank you very much! D.English, I can't wait to see this cool af mirror. It'll be tough to beat the Camaro concept sliver mirrors.
ReplyDeleteOutstanding render. I hope that the final production is much more like this than the other render that is out there. Way more flair and proper muscle car feel, but will still likely fit with a global sales model.
ReplyDeleteIt's a really interesting proposition, but it might look a bit lighter if put on a set of different rims. Somehow I imagine this Mustang with wheels with the smallest number of spokes possible, even down to 3.
ReplyDeleteHow many model years will go by before it will look like this?
