Mustang Mach x1

Hoooweeee, this was a fun one. So I've been sketching here and there what a real Super 'Stang would look like. What I arrived on was essentially a delightful blend of 2010 GT, 1969 Mach 1, and SLS AMG. The "x1" was borrowed from Darth Vader's TIE Advance x1 prototype fighter, because I'm such a geek. (x serves well for concepts at any rate) I could've gone into more detail on the front and rear, but I feel like I nailed the overall look and I didn't want to detract from that with nitty gritties at either end. One of the details I may have failed to communicate was the pass-through vent in the hood. I suppose hood details would tend to get lost in a side view rendering, though. I spent a very casual Saturday on this, on and off. I'd like to do at least a rear rendering in addition. I'll incorporate it into my website tomorrow.

98 Minutes Later

I've finally figured out most of the funky pressure sensitivity driver attitudes on this newfangled technological masterpiece, and I shall post. Yes, this is my first speed painting on my new ASUS eeeSlate EP121! My first touch screen device, my first mobile computer, my first draw-on-screen device. Bear with me, as the last time I used a cintiq was back at CCS. From an impressionist standpoint, I'm happy with this sketch, it catches my eye as a thumbnail- something I need to work on with my more refined pieces. Lots of Juice, lots of Pop. ..Thirst quenching. This was drawn with reference- albeit visual only- no color sampling here! Also, I only used layers for the caddy logo and the background fade- everything else was painted together. Let's hope this is the beginning of a beautiful indentured servitude.

Get it while its hot!

So I say to Pat, "An SHO Wagon would be so hot." A few hours later, I post my rendering of the non-existent beauty on Facebook as my profile. Tim suggests that I send a tip to Autoblog, and 15 hours later, my dear readers, the article pops up! Nice. Note to self; Things happen when you take action.

2009: The year before 2010.

The truth in startling clarity. 2009 was a year full not of digital paintings, but of colorful life experiences, including but not limited to: my first Woodward Dream Cruise, providing artwork without compensation, Coolifying my '67 Skylark (and being featured on MotorMavens), Cruising Main and Woodward for hours every weekend this summer, Completing my second SEMA show car, Rescuing and raising Kittehs, and the obligatory portfolio re-completion.

What Does 2010 hold in store!? New (to me) industrial space, The Challenge of '74, TownCobra, MoTown Cop-Rod, Blackbeauty 2.0, And perhaps most importantly, means with which to complete my ends. My Oh, so grandiose ends.

Stay Tuned!

LaColla Design 1 year anniversary!

Hark! The new decade sings!
What better topic to pick up on than the one I left you dear readers with? Re-presenting a recent render of the stylish Capolavoro in the desert with a lovely model.

Moto Rumi Capolavoro

Its one of the most recent pieces from my time at CCS, But since I can't seem to locate the first thing I ever drew, this will have to do for now. More images to come, along with explanations.
